Activities of the Role

•  Advice: advising clients about building/property issues, including technical, financial, legal, environmental, building regulations & restoration matters.

•  Surveying: undertaking building surveys with photographic schedules in accordance with RICS guidance.

•  Contracts & Procurement: prepare tender documents & contracts for works.

•  Condition Reports: assessing the impact of unexpected damage or adverse conditions on a property & providing advisories.

•  Rectifications: monitoring the deterioration or defects of a property & offering advice on repairs & associated costs.

•  Party Wall: assisting clients throughout the deployment of the Party Wall etc Act 1996.    

• Feasibility: preparation of feasibility studies for potential construction projects.

• Sustainability: implementation of energy efficient/renewable building initiatives in line with carbon reduction initiatives.

• Project Management: management of projects & multidisciplinary teams across all RIBA Stages.    

• Mentorship: providing support & advice to Graduates & Trainees working towards their APC.

 

Key Skills

• RICS Chartered

• Organised with an eye for detail & a strong understanding of the built environment

• Cognisance of current industry regulations including Health & Safety

• Full driving licence

• Project & time management & interpersonal communication skills, both written & oral   

• IT skills; knowledge of industry-specific software such as CAD would be a bonus!
