BLB were appointed to provide Quantity Surveying & Cost Management services to this project, comprising of a new build & refurbishment works to enhance the visitor centre, museum & access to the monument, to become a major visitor attraction for the county of East Sussex which was partially funded by the English Heritage Lottery Grant.

The works included providing a safe walking route with compliant steps and handrails from the Gun Garden to the Keep and Tower, conservation of the Tower from further degradation and providing interpretation signage for visitors, the construction of a new visitor centre, museum refurbishment to reflect the castle’s significance in the local area, plus enhancement of the visitor experience with a cinema to visually convey the castle’s importance.
